Film based on real life experiences of doctor Drauzio Varella inside dreadful State penitentiary Carandiru, in São Paulo, Brazil, while he was doing a social work of Aids prevention. There he found hundreds of convicts living under degrading conditions. The situation came to a climax in 1992, when in order to smother a rebellion, police force killed 111 men.
When Marisa is unable to pay a debt, her baby, Alessandro, is taken away from her by a drug dealer. After cleaning up her act, she becomes determined to find her child. On the outskirts of Rio, another boy, Sandro, finds his mother stabbed to death in her shop. He runs away, intent on reaching Copacabana, where his mother once promised to take him. Once there, Sandro befriends some street kids who sweep him up into a world of drug use and dealing. After becoming a hardened survivor of the Candelaria massacre (an attempt by Rio police to clean up the city by murdering street kids as they slept), he eventually finds himself in a juvenile detention home. It is there that he meets Marisa’s long-lost boy, Alessandro. Marisa meanwhile finds her way to the center, and mistakes Sandro for her own son. Despite her efforts to help him, Sandro cannot escape his hard reality, and ultimately becomes the hostage-taker on Bus 174.
A group of reporters from China with the help of two local reporters to do a research about the natural ecology topic and investigate the senior maternity health care herbal. They have entered to A tropical forest for this research. It should be a quite relaxed journey but it been hide a crisis. They have been attack by an unknown monster and their friend being die one another, in the same time the landslide has block their way out. Singer Hyeon Seok (Lee Min Gi) develops problems with his hearing (Menieres syndrome) and has to stop his recordings. He notices a picture of Hokkaido in a magazine and decides to travel there. He eventually arrives in a a small village in Hokkaido for rest. While there, he reminisces about the old days. The owner of the inn offers him a Japanese meal. There he meets a bright cheerful girl named Megumi (Chizuru Ikewaki).
A young man (Tomoya Nagase) and a girl (Mayuko Fukuda) both learn that they have an untreatable illness and are nearing death. When one reveals that they have never been to the ocean, they embark on a comical adventure to see the sea.
High school seniors Shuu (Masaki Okada) and Hiro (Kie Kitano) run into relationship problems when Shuu decides to attend a university in Tokyo and Hiro remains undecided.
