In 1958 Akira Kurosawa directed The Hidden Fortress, a great adventure where a dethroned princess, a general and two peasants had to find a way to cross enemy lines with a shipment of gold. In 1977, strongly influenced by this film, George Lucas shot Star Wars. Now, on the 50th anniversary of the first, the magician of FX, Shinji Higuchi, lets “the force” be with him and readapts Kurosawa’s movie introducing entertaining nods at Lucas’ work. A truly unbiased, in crescendo show full of young faces, where Darth Vader is, of course, a samurai.
