고고70 (Go Go 70s)


In Korea, 1970s was the dark ages of military autocratic regime as well as an era of revolutionary upheaval of pop culture lead by energetic youth. After performing in shabby clubs in a town hosting a U.S. military base, Sang Kyu (Jo Seung Woo), a singer, and Man Sik (Cha Seung Woo), a guitarist, form Devils, a rock group of six members. They participate in a vocal band contest in Seoul. They make a strong impression with a shocking yet amusing performance. Devils achieve stardom playing at a Go-Go dance club called Nirvana. Mimi (Shin Min Ah), who had followed them to Seoul, also becomes a fashion icon with her dance moves and stylish clothes. However, their heydays don't last long. One of their members dies from a fire at the club, and due to oppressive rule of military dictatorship, the clubs close down and they can't perform anymore. In despair, Sang Kyu plans a passionate concert again called Devils Recital.
